Product overview
How the product fits together
Shelf gives teams one record for each physical asset and the events around it. Staff can label equipment with QR codes, reserve it, hand it over, record its location, and review who had it last. The product is available as a managed service and can also be self-hosted.

Product capabilities
The functions that make the workflow useful
Asset register
Individual records keep identification, category, location, status, and files together.
Booking and custody
Reservations and handovers show what is available, who holds it, and when it is due.
Field access
QR labels and mobile-friendly screens let staff update an item where the equipment is used.
Engineering review
What matters in a production implementation
State conflicts
Booking, checkout, and return actions need clear precedence when several people act on the same item.
Scan resilience
A field workflow should recover cleanly from poor connectivity and repeated scans without duplicating events.
Traceable history
Custody changes need durable timestamps and actor records because teams use the log to resolve missing equipment.
